Electric arc spraying applies coatings of selected metals in wire form. Push/pull motors feed two electrically charged wires through the arc gun to contact tips at gun head. An arc is created that melts the wire at temperatures higher than 4000°C.
Compressed air Atomizes the molten metal and projects it onto a prepared surface. Arc spraying is a high-performance wire spraying process , but the coating material electrically conductive.
